The parent portal

What a parent sees, how they are invited, and withholding results over unpaid fees.

What a parent sees

A parent signs in and sees their own children, and nobody else's. For each child:

  • Results for the current term, and past terms
  • Both teacher comments
  • The report card, exactly as printed
  • Attendance, if your school shows it
  • Fees balance and every receipt
One login per family. A parent with three children in the school signs in once and sees all three.

Getting parents in

Admin → Invite parents. GradeFlex emails a link; the parent sets their own password and is linked to their child automatically. You never handle their password.

A parent with no email cannot use the portal — but they still get the text messages, which is what most Ugandan parents actually rely on.

Withholding results over fees

A school can hide results from a parent whose balance is unpaid. It applies everywhere a parent could reach results, including a report-card link they kept from last term.

It only affects parents. Teachers and administrators keep full access. And it hides results, not the fee balance — a parent can always see what is owed, which is the point of withholding in the first place.

What a parent can never do

  • See another family's child, at all, anywhere
  • Change a mark, a comment or a fee record
  • Email a report card out
